Let's hear it for Northwestern's own soft-tossing lefty, starting tonight for the Phillies. Should we expect a no-hitter, or just a shutout?
Also, does anyone know which game Harden is starting (Friday or Saturday)? Both dates were mentioned, but nothing confirmed to the best of my knowledge.

I know J.A threw all my friends on the NU baseball team, and also when I worked as their student athletic trainer as a senior. I saw that he started last week (found out becuase I was editing that Phillies game and was like, JA!!!!).
He's not really a soft tosser though... he does bring it in the low 90's....
I had no idea this was an NU guy. It won't hurt as much then when he goes either six scoreless innings or eight innings of one run ball against the Cardinals tonight.
Soft tosser or not, he's a "no-name". At least we beat Hamels last night.
Just realized that the Cards-Phils game is ESPN!
GO J.A.!!!!
Happ's stats: 6.1 IP, 2 ER, 5K, 4 BB, 5 H.
A miracle for the Cardinals by their standards. Don't worry, we still lost though.
Tomorrow: the king of soft tossing lefties, Jamie Moyer.
Career ERA: 4.21
Career ERA vs. STL: 2.45
Yikes. Scroll down to the pitching lines for Mulder's return. AP says "shoulder discomfort;" did anybody watch the game? Did it look as bad as the line says? MLB.com's pitch tracker doesn't show anything untoward - fastballs are all between 89 and 91, and conventional wisdom is that the shoulder's responsible for velocity. He was missing consistently when he missed...?
I saw the game on ESPN live. He was looking physically strong but mechanically erratic (Hershiser said it looked like he was throwing darts rather than pitching), and then he suddenly called for the catcher, trainer, & co.
A damn shame... I genuinely feel for the guy. Apparently, his shoulder was just too painful to continue. Didn't look as bad as it apparently felt.
Moyer - 7 IP, 1 ER
