Yeah, I saw that too. I'm glad they went beyond the typical "academics at the expense of winning," but I think they were maybe too easy on Carmody. The recruiting classes haven't been all that strong, and I'm not sure if that's a cause or a result of the seeming infatuation with European players. Now we're going the suburban white kid route. At what point do we go and get something other than an undersized stand-still shooter?
Incidentally, Tavaras is recruiting one of my baseball players, who also plays basketball here. That won't end well.
I loved the article; great read. I really liked the point about how we just need to recruit better in our backyard.
For the umpteenth time, I'm hearing that this "could be the year". We'll see. Unless this team looks considerably different this year, I really hope Carmody is cut loose.
