ESPN.com: "The Chicago Blackhawks today said goodbye to young perennial all-star Patrick Kane after he signed an 8 year, $96M deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
" 'I can't wait to help bring a cup to Toronto after four dismal seasons in Chicago. We always had the talent, but couldn't seem to play well against anyone other than St.Louis or Detroit. We scored some great shorties though...' said the new Maple Leafs center.
"Somehow still-GM Dale Tallon said that 'We just couldn't afford to keep him with the contracts we gave to Campbell and Huet a couple years back. At least we kept the buzz going though back in '08!' "
I don't necessarily think this is a bad long-term decision for the Blackhawks, but I hope they understand the potential price.

He's a winger. Toews is the center.
