Can we start an Aaron Rodgers pity fund? 1st round money aside, I really do feel for the guy.

Rodgers may actually keep the job. On WGN this evening, prior to the Cubs game, they had a Packers beat reporter on Sports Central talking about this. He pointed out that the Packers' response to the news was along the lines of "no comment," and figured that if they had any desire to retain Favre they'd have said "Sure, the door is always open, we'd love to talk," etc.

Then he started talking about possible destinations were the Packers to release Favre. Guess which two NFC North teams came up? Hint: the Lions were not one of the two.

I agree, I think it's likely that Rodgers will keep the job... I still feel bad for him though. The cheeseheads will never forgive him - for something he didn't do.

Favre in a Bears uniform? Wow. That'd blow away Edmonds in a Cubs uniform. I'd never stop laughing.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of Favre taking snaps for the Bears (proceeding on the unlikely assumption that he will, in fact, return)...

- opens things up for the running game;
- is used to working with nobodies at the receiver position;
- his turnover tendencies are mitigated by a stronger defense than he's had in Green Bay;
- he puts to bed the "competition" between Grossman and Orton.

The fact that he's a Packer doesn't concern me, nor does Edmonds' history as a Cardinal. If a guy can help your team win more than your current personnel, and your primary concern is your team's success, you want him playing on your team. It's a little odd to start, but even Dennis Rodman had the whole city on his side by the end, after defecting from the Pistons.

Hey, Cub fans like Jim Edmonds (or at least they do now).

Funny thing I heard from a fan sitting behind me at a game not too long ago:

"Edmonds better do something soon to make me like him."

[CRACK] Home run to tie the game

"I love Jim Edmonds!"

I'm not sure I agree with the "if he can help your team, you want him on your team" comment in all situations. There are some guys that just transcend normal levels of hate. At least, thats my thought now when I picture Brett Favre in a Vikings uniform. That, and the fact that I just threw up a little in my mouth.
